Winelingo for business

Wine training for the whole team.

Five minutes a day on their own phones: short lessons, staff tests and a weekly league. So when a guest asks “what goes with the lamb?”, your team has the answer.

Why it matters

The guest asks. Can your team answer?

Wine sells best when the person at the table can talk about it. But teams change every season, there is no sommelier on every shift, and training has to fit between services.

New faces every season

Seasonal and part-time staff start on a Friday. With Winelingo they can begin on the basics from day one, on their own phone.

No sommelier on every shift

The app explains any bottle on your shelf in plain words: how it tastes, its story, what to eat with it and how to serve it.

Training between services

A lesson takes about five minutes. No classroom, no binder, no course day to book.

What your team gets

Six ways to learn, one app

All of it is in the app or on winelingo.app today, except your house test, which we build for you.

01 · Learn

Five minutes before service

101 short, interactive lessons in 17 units, from glasses and temperature to grapes, regions and wine at the table.

02 · Staff tests

Test the team before the guests do

8 free tests of 10 questions: serving, guest questions, white and red grapes, food and wine, labels, sparkling wine and wine faults.

03 · Your own list

Built on your bottles

We build a staff test from your wine list, with your wines and your prices. Staff open it on their phone, with no login.

04 · Know the bottle

Know every bottle on the shelf

Scan a label to get the story, how it tastes, what to eat with it and how to serve it.

05 · Taste together

A blind tasting for the briefing

Everyone writes notes on their own phone. Then you reveal the wine and see who had the sharpest palate.

06 · Weekly league

The team competes

XP for lessons and tastings, and a new winner every week. Colleagues add each other as friends and race for the top.

Questions

Good to know

What does it cost?

It depends on the size of your team. New partners start with a free trial period, so the team can try Winelingo before you decide anything. Write to us and we’ll make you an offer.

Which phones does it work on?

Winelingo is an iPhone app, and the whole course also runs in the browser, so staff with an Android phone or a computer can take it too, on the same account. The staff tests and your house test are web pages as well. Open the course in your browser

Can you tailor it to our wine list?

Yes. We build a staff test from your list: ten questions the way guests ask them, each pointing to a bottle you actually pour. It lives on its own web page, which is not listed on Google.

Is staff data private?

Each person has their own account, and their tasting journal is theirs. As the employer you don’t get access to anyone’s account. Read more in our Privacy Policy.
