Point your camera Know your wine Learn a little daily

How it works

From “no idea” to “I’ll have this one”

No wine words to memorise first. Winelingo starts with the bottle in front of you and teaches from there.

01

Point your camera

Snap a bottle label or a whole restaurant wine list. That’s the entire input — no typing, no searching.

02

Meet the wine

Get the identity, a plain-language taste profile, why it tastes that way, an honest note on the winery, and a story to tell as you pour.

03

Learn a little daily

Rate what you drink and Winelingo maps your palate. A short daily lesson and a word of the day keep the habit — and your streak — alive.

Scan a label

Every bottle becomes a wine lesson

One photo turns a label you can’t pronounce into something you understand. Winelingo identifies the wine, then explains it the way a generous friend would — no jargon, no gatekeeping.

  • A taste profile in plain words — body, tannin, acidity, sweetness
  • The story of why it tastes that way — grape, place, winemaking
  • An honest note on the winery — no marketing gloss

Never freeze at the wine list again

Scan the whole page at a restaurant and Winelingo reads every bottle, then ranks them by the wines you’ve actually loved. You get a confident pick — and the reason behind it — before the waiter comes back.

  • Reads the printed list straight from your camera
  • Ranks bottles by your personal taste profile
  • One clear recommendation, not a wall of names

Learn wine like a language

A daily habit, not a homework assignment

Wine is a language, and Winelingo teaches it the way the best language apps do: a little every day, building on what you tried last night. Small, warm and genuinely fun to keep up.

  • A short daily lesson and a wine word of the day
  • Keep your streak alive with a lesson or a tasting
  • Explore grapes, regions and styles in real depth

Your palate, mapped

The more you sip, the smarter it gets

Story for serving

A read-aloud host narration for every wine — so you can pour with a little story instead of an awkward silence.

Palate Passport

A living map of what you love — the grapes, styles and regions your ratings reveal — turning scattered sips into a picture of your taste.

A journal you’ll keep

Every bottle saved with its label photo, your rating and notes — a beautiful record of what you drank, and recommendations that get sharper over time.

A vineyard in warm golden-hour light

The language of wine

“Every bottle has a story. Winelingo helps you read it.”

Point your camera and the wine in your glass starts to make sense — the grape, the place, and why it tastes the way it does.

Learn wine in your language

However you say cheers, Winelingo teaches wine in your language — warm, plain and clear in all four.

Questions

Good to know

Is Winelingo free?

Yes. Winelingo launches completely free, with no in-app purchases — you get the full experience at launch. (We may add optional extras down the road, but the launch app is free to use.)

What is Winelingo?

Winelingo is a free app to learn about wine on your iPhone. Scan any wine label and it explains the bottle in plain English — body, tannin, acidity and sweetness — and builds your palate profile as you go. It speaks English, Danish, Spanish and German.

When can I get it?

Winelingo is coming to the App Store very soon. Join the waitlist above and we’ll email you the moment it’s available to download — that’s the fastest way to hear.

Which devices does it work on?

Winelingo is an iPhone app at launch. You’ll point your iPhone camera at a label or wine list to scan it.

What languages does it support?

English, Danish, Spanish and German — with the same warm, plain-language teaching in each.

Do I need an account?

Yes — your tasting journal and palate profile are personal to you, so Winelingo asks you to create an account to keep them safe and in sync. You can delete your account and all its data at any time, right inside the app.

What happens to the photos I scan?

A label or wine-list photo is processed to identify the wine and return your result — it isn’t kept as a long-term gallery, and it’s never used to build an advertising profile. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
